‘Alice in Zombieland’ (White Rabbit Chronicles #1) by Gena Showalter

I cannot stress enough that ‘Alice in Zombieland’ is not a retelling of ‘Alice in Wonderland’! But nonetheless, I loved how the zombies were this kind of spirits, which you had to fight in spirit form, because it’s something I’ve never seen before and it worked great. In addition all the persons in this book felt so genuine and I wanted to be Alice because of her confident and strong personality, and also so I could get her lovely friends and family.

Excerpt from ‘Alice in Zombieland’

Had anyone told me that my entire life would change between one heartbeat and the the next, I would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please.
But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything I knew and loved was gone.
My name is Alice Bell, and on the night of my sixteenth birthday I lost the mother I loved, the sister I adored and the father I never understood until it was too late. Until that heartbeat when my entire world collapsed and a new one took shape around me.
My father was right. Monsters walk among us.
