‘This house is haunted’ by John Boyne
An inexperienced twenty-one year old girls dream transforms into a nightmare. She’s all alone. But she doesn’t run away screaming. That’s old fashioned girl power! The setup in ‘This house is haunted’ reminds a lot of Henry James’ ‘The Turn of the screw’, but John Boyne proves with his strong characters that gothic fiction can be taken to another even more delightful level. ‘Just One Day’ (Just One Day #1) by Gayle Forman
Allyson has never done anything unexpected until she meets Willem. He asks her to go to Paris with him for just one day, and so she does. The book is a good mixture of travelling, love and finding yourself, which pretty much describes most teenagers wishes. Together I think Willem and Allyson make our times most epic love story. ‘Invitation Only’ (Private #2) by Kate Brian
(Spoiler Alert! Second book in a series.) Reed is finally a Billings Girl and is ready to live the glamorous life – or so she thinks. Thomas is still missing, her new roommate is blackmailing her and apparently, everyone seems to be talking about this party called ‘The Legacy’ which Reed has no idea what is. ‘Invitation Only’ takes place a couple of days after ‘Private’ and it left me speechless. It is so much darker than ‘Private’ and the plot is so well put together, that I forgot I was reading the book and actually thought, that I was in the book. (mere…)

‘Never Fade’ (The Darkest Minds #2) by Alexandra Bracken
An extremely action packed story about Ruby and the battles she has to fight. Both against the thing, she is beginning to become as a consequence of her actions, and all the other dangers lurking around every corner, while trying to protect everything she holds dear. (mere…)

But the she meets the perfect Billings Girls who can make anything easy, as long as you do as they say. While reading ‘Private’ I found myself unable to stop reading. ‘No and Me’ by Delphine de Vigan
An incredibly poignant and beautiful story about two lonely girls mutual friendship. Not since ‘Zoo Station, The Story of Christiane F.’ have I been so emotionally involved, and even though the story is incredible sad, it wasn’t devastating, but actually life-affirming in a very beautiful way. (mere…)

‘The Luxe’ (Luxe #1) by Anna Godbersen
If you like all the glitz and the glam, New York, the 19th century, the scandals, the charming irresistible boys and the manipulative and glamorous girls, then this is the book for you. It takes you into the world of all that, and you want to scream, cry and hug the characters all at once. (mere…)

‘The Perfectionists’ (The Perfectionists #1) by Sara Shepard
Five girls, one murder and a whole lot of mystery. The story about Ava, Caitlin, Julie, Mackenzie and Parker who all hate the same guy. Together they come up with the perfect plan to kill him, but when he shows up dead the exact same way they planned it they have to work together to find the real killer before their perfect lives comes crumbling down around them.
When you mix the perfect girls, irresistible boys, plotted murder and secrets you get the perfect Sara Shepard cocktail. The Perfectionists had me at the edge of me seat the entire ride and I never knew what to expect along the way. (mere…) -
‘The Darkest Minds’ (The Darkest Minds #1) by Alexandra Bracken
A deadly virus kills most of the American children. Those who survive suddenly develops dangerous, supernatural abilities. Ruby is one of them. She manages to escape from the brutal government-run “rehabilitation” camps. Together with a few others she struggle to survive in a world, where everyone has their own agenda and will stop at nothing to use kids like them. The story was so engrossing and action packed, that it left me breathless (mere…)

‘The Perks of being a Wallflower’ by Stephen Chbosky
‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ is the story about the sensitive 15-year-old boy, Charlie, who starts in High School. As a reader I felt like I had a bigger role in this book because of the personal writing style and that is something I have never experienced before. But at the same time I cannot say that ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ has reached my list of favorite books. (mere…)

‘Alice in Zombieland’ (White Rabbit Chronicles #1) by Gena Showalter
I cannot stress enough that ‘Alice in Zombieland’ is not a retelling of ‘Alice in Wonderland’! But nonetheless, I loved how the zombies were this kind of spirits, which you had to fight in spirit form, because it’s something I’ve never seen before and it worked great. In addition all the persons in this book felt so genuine and I wanted to be Alice because of her confident and strong personality, and also so I could get her lovely friends and family. (mere…)

‘Twenty Boy Summer’ by Sarah Ockler
In ‘Twenty Boy Summer’ Sarah Ockler creates magic through her beautiful writing. While reading, I became Anna and that really made me enjoy this book. Besides that, then this wasn’t just another predictable love story. I liked how I had no clue about what direction the story was going to take, and that made me eager to read the book. (mere…)

‘Watchers’ by Dean Koontz
‘Watchers’ was my first favorite novel ever. I read it when I was 15 and thought it was absolutely lovely and horrifying and the same time. Now I felt it was time for a reread, because ‘Watchers’ isn’t just any mystery/horror/thriller-novel. It’s actually characterized as Dean Koontz best novel, by readers all over the world. (mere…)
